As well as dealing with AIB directly, customers now have another avenue open to them. The Irish Mortgage Holders Organisation (IMHO) provide independent and free advice.
The IMHO will provide you with a designated point of contact where you will be assisted with and advised on the completion of a Standard Financial Statement (SFS) which is a key component for determining the most suitable solution for the resolution of the arrears. This assistance will be provided over the phone, online or in person. The IMHO will then submit the relevant information to a designated team in the AIB arrears support unit for consideration and agreement of next steps.

Under the Central Bank's Code of Conduct on Mortgage Arrears, AIB has introduced a four step process called the Mortgage Arrears Resolution Process or MARP to help support mortgage customers who are in arrears or are at risk of going into arrears. This also applies to customers where an alternative repayment arrangement, already in place, breaks down or expires. The protection of the Code applies to your primary residential property, which you occupy as your primary residence or your residential property which is your only residential property in this State (that you may not currently reside in).
