At AIB, we know that starting a career in farming can be challenging and young farmers need support for the future. As part of our ongoing support of young farmers this Wednesday July 22nd AIB in association with Macra na Feirme will host a Young Farmers Positive Forum in Birr, Co Offaly.
This interactive forum will equip young farmers with practical insights and information to steer their farming careers in the right direction. The forum is part of Macra’s Young Farmer Skillnet, and a variety of experts and facilitators will challenge young farmers to become even more dynamic and expert in their field. This is a great networking event for any young farmer starting off, so don’t miss out! Register for the "Young Farmers Positive Forum" now.
What is The Positive Young Farmers Forum?
The event is geared at young farmers who want to attend a day with a difference that will benefit them in their farming career. Young farmers who are either near, at the point or have recently taken over a farm will gain the most from attending.
The forum will take place on the 22nd July in the County Arms Hotel, in Birr, Co. Offaly. New entrant to dairying, Padraig Keane, from Kilcormac, Co. Offaly and beef and sheep farmer, Ray Dempsey, from Coolderry, Co. Offaly, will open their farms to delegates at the forum.
There will also be a number of information hubs which will include representatives from AIB, the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Grasstec, Herdwatch and the Land Mobility Service. A networking BBQ will follow so participants will gain the opportunity to talk with experts first hand.
Why should you attend?
Eamonn O’Reilly, Agri Advisor with AIB said, “This forum has been specifically developed to provide young farmers with the opportunity to learn from two progressive farmers as well as participate in a number of information hubs. We hope that the day will greater equip young farmers to maximise presenting opportunities and mitigate ongoing challenges as they present to their businesses, both important in the dynamic environment in which we operate”.
Macra National President, Seán Finan, said, “Young Farmers need ongoing training and skills enhancement to maximise output and success on farm. This forum aims to challenge young farmers to be more dynamic and skilled in their approach to the farm business. I encourage all young farmers to attend”.
