AIB Wins Best Innovation in Financial Services at DMAs 2015

We’ve got good news! The AIB Tablet Banking App won the “Best Innovation in Financial Services” at the Digital Media Awards (DMA) 2015, which took place on Friday February 20^th at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Dublin.

The Digital Media Awards is a programme that recognises and awards excellence in digital media.

AIBs Head of Channel Development & Strategy, Direct Channels & Analytics, John Brennan said: “I am delighted for the team. The fact that the AIB Tablet Banking App has been acknowledged with such a prestigious award is a fantastic achievement. As we know our customers are using many devices to access our products and services today. AIB’s Tablet Banking App optimises the experience for those customers choosing to bank by using their Tablets. We will continue to focus on optimising the user experience for our customers when banking with AIB regardless of what channel they use”.

Almost one million AIB customers are now actively using Direct Channels, including more than 500,000 choosing to bank with the AIB Mobile Banking App and over 80,000 actively using the AIB Tablet Banking App. With our Tablet Banking App, users can easily access a number of AIB Internet Banking services, plus a whole lot more from their Apple iPad or Android Tablet.

AIB’s Head of Channel Adoption, Mark Culleton said “The Lab played an important role in the development of the AIB Tablet Banking app. We invited consumers into The Lab and asked them to test it and suggest improvements. Involving customers in this way helped refine the tablet banking app prior to launch.”

The CSO Information Society Statistics for Households indicates that for people in Ireland, portable computers including netbooks and tablets were the most popular devices used to access the internet at home. 88% of people use portable computers to go online while 62% use mobile phones.
