Pogo> Takes Payments Mobile at the Irish Beauty Show

Pogo> is our revolutionary new product for people and companies who want to take their business mobile or ‘on the road’, from house calls to market places.

The beauty industry is going mobile

A brilliant example of an industry where business is becoming more and more ‘on the go’ is the beauty industry. Nowadays, we’re seeing an increasing number of beauticians and makeup artists branching out on their own with their tools of the trade, high skill levels and entrepreneurial spirit in tow.

Something they’re missing however, is a way of easily collecting payment. We’re all moving away from having cash on us all the time and the mobile nature of business nowadays puts customers in locations without easy access to ATMs or cashback, such as their homes. This often means we have to make a conscious effort to have enough cash on us and it can also mean that businesses could miss potential sales if the person hasn’t.

Pogo> is keeping mobile business in mind

Fret not though, Pogo> is the answer to all these issues. By using Pogo> businesses can now take payments by card wherever they are, allowing them to seamlessly collect their fee right where they’re providing their service. It also gives customers the opportunity to make additional purchases they initially had not thought of or booked for.

In the spirit of keeping things mobile, we’ve come up with a brand new way of enabling business customers to sign up for Pogo>. You can now fill out the digital application form online and the Pogo> card reader is then dispatched to you by courier. If you’re a current AIB customer, approval can be as quick as 24 hours. By keeping mobile business in mind, we’re focusing on giving our business customers the best business start-up experience AIB has ever provided.

Pogo> and the Irish Beauty Show

At the Irish Beauty Show in the RDS on Sunday 8th and Monday 9th March 2015, we brought the Pogo> experience to these mobile business users so they could see it in action for themselves. We demoed the service on our giant demo Samsung phone and Pogo> device plus there were iPads on hand too allowing customers to sign-up and apply right there and then. On the day, a whole host of AIB business customers were at the event who were already successfully using Pogo> and experiencing all the great benefits it has to offer.

The Irish Beauty Show is Ireland’s premier beauty event and hosted leading names in the beauty industry. More than 12,000 visitors attended the event across the two days and over 300 brands representing the Beauty, Hair, Nails, Tanning, Spa, Medical, Aesthetics and Make-up sectors were on hand to present on innovative ideas, training, competitions and huge savings. At the event there was huge interest in Pogo> from potential customers ranging from start-ups, mobile therapists, taxis and even large companies interested in using Pogo> for trade events and fleet teams.

Pogo> has the power to revolutionise the mobile payment side of the beauty industry along with many other business sectors that are becoming increasingly mobile. Our goal is to help all those brave entrepreneurs to grow their business because after all, at AIB We’re Backing Brave.
