AIB Sponsors Éigse Open Submission Art Prize at Carlow Arts Festival

In 2015, the Carlow Arts Festival will celebrate its 36th year.
The festival, also referred to as Éigse, showcases a diverse range of arts and cultural events over 10 days in June across the county of Carlow. Over the years, it has played host to performers such as Eric Clapton and Billy Connolly, and has gained a reputation for its outstanding visual art programme.
This year, AIB Carlow is the proud main sponsor of the Éigse Open Submission Art Prize. The Éigse Award of €5000 for Visual Arts will be presented for the ‘most outstanding work in any medium’ at the Opening of the Carlow Arts Festival on the29th May. The prize will be selected byLewisBiggs and other invited artists include Kathy Prendergast, Eilis O’ Connell and Mickey Donnelly.
The selected finalists, containing a balance of all genres, will be exhibited in the VISUAL Centre for Contemporary Art until the 30th August 2015.
