Zoë With Umlauts Blog: T in The Park with #SparkSomething

As you've probably all heard me going on about enough, AIB sent me to T in The Park as part of their #SparkSomething campaign. It was the most exciting thing, I'm a total music lover and the line-up had some pretty divine acts in it! I headed to Dublin Thursday night, waking up at 4:15am to take a flight over to Edinburgh for the weekend with my boyfriend, and my best friend.

A lot of people had a lot to say about this year’s T in the Park, and many complained that it's new home of Strathallan Castle wasn't appropriate. I have to say, we must have been very lucky as we didn't encounter a single problem! We camped very close to the arena, all our tent neighbours were friendly and we didn't encounter any sort of violence or theft, we had a great time. Even in the lashing rain!

In terms of acts, the ones I managed to catch were:

Friday - The Cribs, Sigma, Hozier, Hot Chip, Fatboy Slim and Kasabian

Saturday - The Strypes, Marina & the Diamonds, Alt-J and Maceo Plex

Sunday - Marmozets, Wolf Alice, Peace, Modest Mouse, Oliver Heldens and The Prodigy.

There was a really good variety of music on offer, it pretty much caters to everyone’s taste. If you're into your indie rock you were covered with acts like the Palma Violets/Catfish & The Bottlemen, if you're a dance fan, there's your Avicii/David Guetta, if you prefer more chill acoustic stuff, you're covered with the likes of Hozier/Lucy Rose. Pop? Charli XCX, Paloma Faith, Jessie J & Marina all take care of that. No matter what your taste, there was pretty much always an act that suited someone and I really liked that about the festival.

Would I recommend you check out T in The Park? It's a very young festival, most people seemingly below the age of 25. It's quite rowdy and drunk, but it's good fun, so if that sounds like your sort of thing, you should definitely go along in 2016!

Have you been to any festivals yet this Summer?
