Your mortgage is most likely the biggest financial commitment that you’ll make in your lifetime. But that doesn’t mean you should be spending more on your monthly repayments than you need to. We can all benefit from putting a little extra money in our pocket each month, and switching your mortgage provider could help you make some serious savings. Read on to find out three reasons why you should switch your mortgage to AIB.

1. Save Money

First and foremost, you could be saving money. Your mortgage rate may have been a good choice when you first took it out, but there could be better options available today. Yet surprisingly, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission note that just 2% of people have switched mortgage provider in the last five years. If you’re considering switching, we would be delighted to talk to you about our very competitive fixed and variable mortgage interest rates available to all customers. But don’t just take our word for it - use our handy Switching Mortgage Calculator to quickly see how much you could save by switching to AIB.

2. Get €2,000 to Cover Costs

In order to switch your mortgage, you’ll be required to get a home valuation and pay some legal fees. To help you cover your costs, we’ll provide €2,000 within two months of mortgage drawdown. This is a fixed amount and will be paid directly into the current account you use to pay your new mortgage.

3. Switching can be an Easy Process

You’re used to reviewing providers like internet, gas and TV on a yearly basis, so why not review your mortgage too? If you find the idea of switching your mortgage a bit confusing, we have a dedicated Switching Team to answer any questions you may have. They’ll help with the paperwork and talk you through the process in no time. Just call us on 0818 303 035, Monday to Friday 9am – 9pm and Saturday 9am – 6pm. You can also request a call from one of our expert mortgage advisors at a time that suits you.

Why Choose AIB?

We’ll make the switching process easy, but why should you choose an AIB mortgage? Well, we pride ourselves on providing all of our customers with their own personal mortgage advisor to help with every step of the process. And when you switch to AIB, you may have the option to delay your mortgage repayment for the first 6 months. You could also be eligible for No Fees on the current account that you use to pay for your AIB mortgage.
