AIB will never ...
Text you with a link asking you to login to your account or share personal or financial information.
Ask you to transfer money to any safe or third party accounts.
Ask you for a One Time Passcode (OTP) or Digipass codes when we contact you.
Ask you to download software or request remote access to your accounts.
Ask you to not login to your account for a few days “until we fix a problem”.
What we do to protect you
Secure login
iBusiness Banking (iBB) provides you with strong online banking security adhering to best practice in the industry. This means that you need two separate secret elements to be able to log on (to authenticate yourself). So as well as your User ID, you will also require a password and either the unique One Time Code provided by the Digipass - the secure electronic code generator registered to the user or if you have downloaded our mobile app, you will need to confirm a push notification sent to the registered device. These steps are required to log on and transact on iBB.

Encrypted Website
To ensure you can access your accounts over the internet with the utmost confidence, we use Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Digital Signatures as part of user and transaction authentication as well as Transport Layer Security (TLS) to encrypt all information in transit between the customer and AIB.
Auto time-out and date stamp
This feature aims to protect you against unauthorised access.
AIB iBB Business Banking will automatically log you out after 5 minutes of inactivity. You must be actively browsing to stay connected.

Two Factor Authentication for Transactions
AIB offers extended security which enables customers to access an extensive range of services through iBB Business banking. A digipass or mobile app is required to make and authorise payments.
Text alerts for cards
We may text you if we see suspicious activity on your credit or debit card. The text will come from these numbers and you will be asked to respond with either a 1 or 9 to confirm or reject the transaction.
For Debit Cards the text will come from +353 86 180 3392;
For Personal Credit Cards the text will come from +353 86 180 3392;
For Commercial Credit Cards the text will come from +353 86 180 0846.

Payment Monitoring
We know that security is important to you, our customer, and so to help protect you our Payment Monitoring team may need to contact you from time to time to ensure payments made from your account are genuine.
This means that the processing of some payments may be delayed for a short time while we attempt to make contact with you to verify the payment.
For security reasons, the team will need to verify the user, to progress the call and confirm the payment
