What is JAM Card and who is it for?
Jam Card was developed by the NOW Group so that people with a learning difficulty, autism or communication barrier can ask for 'Just A Minute' to give them more time and support in customer service situations.
Those with a communication barrier are often reluctant or unable to tell others that they need a little more time to ask for what they want. When they show the JAM Card, this happens in a simple, effective non-verbal manner.
There are 3 message options to choose from on the card:
- Please be patient, I have autism
- Please be patient, I have learning disability/difficulty
- Please be patient, I have a condition
