We have a team to help if you are acting on behalf of a customer who has passed away.

When a loved one or a close relative passes away there’s a lot to do. Bank accounts may not be important right now, but it’s the very time when you may need access to money to pay funeral expenses for example.

Our team is here to help. They will be your single point of contact.

Here is what you need to do now as the first step

We understand that this is a very difficult time for you. The easiest way to reach us is through our Notification of Customer’s Death form.

We promise that we will do what we can to help make this easier for you. Our team are here to support you.

So, if a customer of ours who is your partner, spouse or loved one has died please either:

Our ‘What to Do when someone dies’ guide provides useful information. For example, it tells you how you can release money to pay for funeral expenses. You can download our bereavement guide here.

If the customer who has died held a business account, please contact the branch where they held the account.

If you want to set up an Executors’ account to manage winding up the estate, your local branch can do this for you.
