We are letting customers know about an error we made when some personal customers missed a repayment or asked us to change the repayment arrangement on their Hire Purchase or Personal Contract Plan accounts in the past. We have corrected the error.
We made an error when calculating interest on some customers’ accounts, where a repayment was missed or where we asked to change to the repayment arrangement on their account. This resulted in us charging additional interest and, in some cases, additional fees.
We will refund any customer affected by this error, either with a refund (called ‘Interest Adjust T300’) into their Hire Purchase or Personal Contract Plan account, to their AIB current account, or by cheque.
We will be writing to all customers affected by this error, so they do not need to do anything.

If any customer feels this error affected credit decisions by us or other financial institutions, we will work with those customers to address this issue.
