Cabot Financial Ireland Security Event

AIB is aware of a security event impacting Cabot Financial Ireland. Cabot provides collection services for certain AIB customers whose non-mortgage accounts were in arrears. Cabot is actively working with third party experts to identify any possible impacts for these customers and we are supporting them in this. 

The security and privacy of customer information is of the highest priority for AIB. In the event that any data breach impacting these customers is confirmed we would contact them as soon as possible and continue to work with Cabot in the best interests of these customers.

We always advise customers to remain vigilant and take precautions to help protect their accounts. During this time, we particularly recommend that these customers:

• Monitor Accounts: Regularly check account statements and transaction history for any unauthorised activity.

• Be Cautious: If these customers are contacted by someone claiming to be from a financial institution we urge them not to click on links or share any of their details, including personal access codes or passwords.

In addition, AIB has also set up a helpline which these customers can contact on 01 7715550, 9am-5pm Monday to Friday, and 9am-1pm on Saturdays.
