What support is available to report fraud

If you think you have been a victim of fraud. Stop engaging with the person on text/WhatsApp/email/phone/online.

  • Check your accounts to see if there are transactions that you did not make.
  • Contact us as soon you become aware of an issue with your account.
     - Only use the contact details on the AIB website or go to your nearest AIB branch.
  • Please note:  If you are contacted by someone claiming to be from AIB, asking you for your banking codes over the phone, you are talking to a fraudster.  Hang up and call us. We will never ask you to provide any codes over the phone. We will never ask you to delete the app and not log back into your accounts for a period of time. If you are asked to send us your card e.g. by courier or taxi, you are talking to a fraudster.

If we suspect fraud on your account, we will:

  • Block your account/online/mobile banking/cards preventing any further transactions.
  • We will review the activity on your accounts.
  • Where appropriate, we will report the fraud to the Gardai.
  • We may contact you as part of our investigation.
  • We will attempt to recover the payment from the receiving bank on a best efforts basis.
