What is Secure Messaging?

Secure Messaging allows customers to conveniently and securely send a query to the Bank.

What types of messages can I send through Secure Messaging?

You can send 2 query types through Secure Messaging. Select the "New Query" button and within the dropdown you can submit a message of the following two query types.

  • Service Query 
  • Product Information Query

Message Status Icons

You may see the following message status icons when interacting with us through My Messages : 

unreadIcon indicating a new message or message that has yet to be read by you.

readIcon indicating that messages have been viewed by you.

being-sentIcon indicating that you have submitted a message to AIB. This message is currently being routed to AIB and may take up to 1 minute to send. Note: Please click on the Refresh button to confirm that your message has been sent.

sentIcon indicating that you have successfully submitted a message to AIB. AIB will respond to your query within 24 hours   (Monday – Friday).

Personalised Product Messages

If you are currently opted in to receiving sales and marketing messages to the "My Messages" area in Internet Banking and choose to opt out, please note: 

  • You are opting out of receiving sales and marketing messages.
  • You can continue to use this "My Messages" area to interact with the bank.

If you are currently opted out of receiving sales and marketing messages to the "My Messages" area in Internet Banking and choose to opt in, please note:

  • You are opting in to receiving sales and marketing messages.
  • You can continue to use this "My Messages" area to interact with the bank.
