It’s easy to open a current account with us.
It can be even easier depending on the type of account you want to open. For example, if you want to open a current account for yourself you can do it by going through our mobile app or filling out this enquiry form and one of our team will be in contact with you by phone.
If you want to open an account with someone else, a joint current account, we’ll make it easy by sending an electronic application form via a provider called DocuSign, first to one of you. When that person has signed the form, we’ll send it to the second person for signing. When both of you have signed it, it will take us between 3-5 days to open your account. You will know when this is done as we will send you an email with the next steps. Once you receive this email, you will both need to go to a branch with proof of ID and address, and to provide a copy of your wet signature. This doesn’t have to be the same branch, or at the same time. You will need to do this to activate your joint current account (for example to put money in, take money out, Direct Debits, subscriptions).
Please do not attempt to use your account until you have both completed the steps above.
The first step is to fill out this form to tell us what type of account suits your needs. You both will need to agree what type of account you want, do you want debit cards, whose signature is required to authorise payments from the account (both, or just one of you acting for both) and what happens to the money in the account in the event one of you passes away.
