"The threat of climate change to our entire planet has become a reality and so we must think globally. Greening our business is one of AIB’s three strategic priorities and sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We want to empower people to build a more sustainable future.“

Sustainability in Action – AIB’s new Impact Report

Our new Social Impact Report for 2024-2025 outlines what we are doing to make a positive difference to communities, to the lives of our customers and colleagues, and to climate and nature every day.

In stories and pictures and through people and places, it gives a glimpse into the infrastructural transformation, business innovation, rural regeneration, housing responses, community action, sporting rivalry and nature restoration that AIB is supporting through our Greening our Business strategic priority.

While this report is a sustainability update it’s also a social progress report, because these two principles go hand in hand.  We hope it gives you a flavour of the impact we’re having, not just as a bank, but as part of the communities we serve.

Progressing our sustainability agenda is a strategic priority for AIB and is a core tenet of our corporate strategy.

Our purpose is empowering people to build a sustainable future and Greening our business is a strategic priority. We move with clear intent to lead the transition, supporting our customers, colleagues and many other stakeholders on this journey. We have a well-established approach to transparent sustainability disclosures and we believe that sustainability reporting is an important approach to embed sustainable practices.

To learn more about our approach to sustainability and our progress please see our Sustainability Reporting section on pages 43 to 121 of our 2024 Annual Financial Report (PDF, 400 pages, 21.7MB).
