• Keep your phone’s software up to date
  Most phones and apps can now update themselves automatically. This means your device will download and install the latest updates for you, so you don’t have to do anything. You can turn on automatic updates in the settings menu on your device or app.

   

  To switch on automatic updates for your mobile phone look for ‘Updates’ or ‘Software Update’ in your settings.

  We have two videos to help you check if your phone can be updated – watch them at Trouble Logging In or simply follow the steps below.

   

  For Android phones: Your phone will need to update its software to at least Android 10.

   

  Not all Android phones are the same, so the steps you need to follow may vary depending on your device. If you're not sure where to find the right menu or settings, we recommend checking with your phone provider by visiting their support website for help.

  • Look for ’Settings’ on your phone screen.  It often looks like a little w
  • heel or gear.
  • In ‘Settings’, look for something called ‘System’ or ‘About phone’.
  • Next, tap ‘System update’ , ‘Software update’, or ‘Check for updates’.
  • If you see an option to ‘Download and install’ or ‘Update’,   tap on it and follow the instructions.

   
  For Apple phones: Your phone will need to update its software to at least iOS 15.1.

  • Tap the ‘System Settings’ button (it looks like a little grey gear).
  • Scroll down and tap ‘General’.
  • Tap ‘Software Update’.
  • If your phone shows ‘Download and install’ or ‘Update’, tap it and follow the instructions.
• How to use Internet Banking if you can’t update your device?
  If the software on your current device can’t be updated, you can consider using a newer device with at least iOS 15.1 or Android 10 or alternatively you can use AIB Internet Banking.

  1. Before you log onto to internet banking you’ll need your Registration Number, Personal Access Code (PAC) and your card reader.
     
     → If you’ve forgotten your Registration Number, you can find it in the Mobile App under Settings > Profile.
     
     → If you have forgotten your Personal Access Code (PAC), go to here << I have forgotten my Personal Access Code (PAC) and/or Registration Number. What do I do?>>
     
     → If you don’t have a card reader you can order one at Kiosk Banking in any of our branches or by contacting our Customer Service Team on the number below.
     
     You will need to unregister your mobile app. You can do this by logging into your app. Go to Settings > Security and Access > Unregister This Device.
     
     
  2. Go to << AIB Internet Banking>>here  click on the ‘login’ button and follow the on-screen instructions.
• How to confirm your online purchases if you’re not using the app?
  For confirming online purchases, you will be asked to enter a password along with a one-time passcode we will text you.

   

  If you haven’t already set up a password, you will need to do so first.

   

  To set up a password, log securely into AIB Internet Banking

   

  → Click ‘Services & Settings’

   

   → Select ‘Security & Access’

   

  → Click ‘Password for Online Purchases’

   

  → Click ‘Set Up”

   

  We will ask you to confirm your mobile number and we will send you a one-time passcode as part of this set up. 
• How do I confirm my purchases using a password and one-time passcode for online purchases?
  1. When you are making purchases online and you are asked to confirm the transaction, you will see a message on screen asking you to enter your password.
  2. Enter your password and click continue.
  3. We will then send you a  6 digit one time passcode by text message. Enter this code and click Continue. Then follow the instructions to confirm the purchase.
