[Visuals: inside AIB headquarters — three judges seated at a long table facing groups of children presenting business ideas. The setting resembles a Dragons’ Den-style pitch.]
David O'Halloran, Group Head of Business and Professional Services, Stratgeic sourcing (Judge 1):
It’s hard questions, it’s a lot of money - it’s a tough gig today.
Grainne Potterton, Branch Manager, Clonskeagh (Judge 2):
I’m really looking forward to the figures and where they’re going with all of the ideas.
(Judge 3):
Well, I know for me, I’m a Cavan man, so I don’t part easily with my money.
So it’s going to have to be a super good idea for me to put that money on the table.
[Visuals: a group of students present a project titled “VWX” with a logo displayed on a poster.]
Student Presenter:
Our idea is called VWX. It’s a VR park - but not any VR park.
You put a movie into the headset and you become the main characters of the movie.
[Visuals: another student group presents skincare products.]
Student Presenter 2:
Toxic-free skincare products - for any age, from zero to one thousand.
Judge 1:
I’m nearly one thousand, so that’s great!
Student Presenter 3:
We can get a YouTuber like Mr Beast - he can make a video or an ad about our products.
Judge 2:
So you mentioned you’re going to promote it through CR7 - is that Cristiano Ronaldo?
Student:
Yes.
Judge 2:
Okay, that’s a very good idea.
Judge 1:
You could have any celebrity in the world to promote your product.
Student:
Brian May.
Judge 1:
Queen! Interesting.
Judge 3:
I love the logo and I love the colours.
I see a future in this business. You could probably go on to make necklaces and lots of things as well.
Judge 2:
Great teamwork, can I say. Yeah, fabulous teamwork — that’s the thing that stood out.
You were helping each other, even during some tricky parts there. It was really well done.
Judge 1:
It’s really good for the environment, and we all have to do our bit.
Judge 2:
And I would like to go €10,000 for 50 percent of your business. How would you like that?
Judge 3:
Would you be interested in a split for two Dragons?
Student:
We’ll give you 50 percent!
Judge 1:
I think we need to shake on it now.
[Visuals: judges and students laugh and shake hands.]
Judges together:
Thanks so much — well done! Well done!
Judge 2 (to camera):
Fearless, curious — the energy from them was astonishing.
They were so enthusiastic and full of passion, and they can grow to bigger things.
Judge 3:
I’ve been volunteering with Junior Achievement Ireland now for about two years, and every single time I go out to a school, I’m blown away by the passion of the young people and just their entrepreneurial spirit.
So I’m really excited for the next generation and all the great ideas that are coming.
Students:
Yeah!
