If you opened the current account online, you have the right to close (withdraw) from your current account within 14 days of opening the account. You can do this by completing one of the following.

Online Banking (if you’re registered)

On the AIB mobile app, AIB Internet Banking or using a self-service kiosk in an AIB branch.

Branch Banking

Visit any AIB branch with photo identification and proof of your address.

Online form

Click Close an account to complete and submit the form.

Once submitted, you will need to visit a branch so we can verify your identity and complete the process.
