• Download the AIB pilot app from the app store. You will have received download instructions via email from the AIB mobile app team.
• Log in to the app.
• Enter your 8-digit registration number (select "Yes" when asked if you want to save your registration number to avoid having to re-enter it each time you login).
• Enter your confidential 5-digit personal access code (PAC).

• For iPhone users you need iOS 15.1 or later.
• For Android users you need Android 10 or later.
• To check your version, go to Settings on your device.

You can find this in your AIB mobile app.

Go to 'Settings', then 'Profile'. Your 8-digit registration number is under your name at the top of the screen.

If you don't have access to your AIB mobile app, you can regain access to it by filling in the form linked here.

You’ll need your debit card, date of birth and mobile phone to receive an activation code.

You can re-set your confidential 5-digit PAC in your AIB mobile app (only available to AIB personal bank account customers who are registered for online banking).

Tap ‘Trouble Logging In?’ on the log in screen and enter a new PAC and confirm it.

You’ll need to confirm your 8-digit registration number and provide the PIN for your debit card

If your PAC is not active you can call our Customer Service team on 0818 724 724 (+353 1 771 2424 from outside Ireland) and select option 5.

Yes. Use your 8-digit registration number and confidential 5-digit PAC.

You will also be asked if you would like to use Passkeys for future logins. See Passkeys Q&A below.

Passkey is a new and faster way to sign in to the new app without needing to remember your PAC.

Instead of typing, you just use your fingerprint or face recognition to log in. It’s quicker, easier and just as secure.

You can set up a Passkey in the new app as your new way to log in to the new app going forward.

If you don't want to set up a Passkey, that’s OK. You can set this up at a later stage if you want. See ‘How do I create a Passkey on the new app?’ for more information.

• Log in.
• Tap the profile icon (top left of the home screen, where your initials are).
• Tap Login and Security.
• Tap Passkeys.
• Tap Create a Passkey and follow the on-screen steps.
• You can then use your passkey each time you launch the new app.
• Your Passkey will also appear in your password manager settings for Android devices and under passwords for iOS devices.

• Tap the profile icon (top left of the home screen, where your initials are).
• Tap Login and Security.
• Tap Passkeys.
• Choose the passkey you want to remove.
• Tap Remove.
• We recommend also removing the passkey from your phone’s password manager in your device settings.

The pilot will run until the end of June and we will keep you informed by email.

This is to allow you the time to use the AIB pilot app as part of your daily routines and share feedback. If we find any major issues or need more testing based on feedback, the pilot may be extended to make sure all improvements are made before the full launch.

When the pilot ends, we will deactivate the pilot app so it cannot be used anymore, and you will need to remove it from your device.

You will then return to using the AIB mobile app until the new AIB mobile app is available to you to use.

When the pilot ends and you get access to the new AIB mobile app during its roll out, you may need to set up features and certain settings again. 

Open the pilot app, tap your initials on the home screen and tap feedback.

Yes. The AIB pilot app uses the same security standards as the AIB mobile app.

Zippay is currently being developed and will become available soon. In the meantime, if you want to make Zippay payments, you can do this in your AIB mobile app.

• Log in to the AIB pilot app.
• Tap ‘Payments’ in the tab at the bottom of the screen.
• Click on ‘Manage Payees’ under the ‘Manage payments’ section.
• To create a new payee, tap the ‘New’ button in the top right hand corner of the screen and follow the on screen steps.

Yes. The pilot app will not affect your current direct debit & standing order arrangements, and payments will be processed as usual.

You can amend or cancel direct debits or standing orders in the pilot app.

Some features aren’t here yet such as Zippay, Apple Pay card activation & removal, profile & security authentication set up and credit card limit requests, but they’re on the way. You can still access them through your AIB mobile app.

You can continue to make Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) payments, open a current account or request a credit card and use many more features in the pilot app.

Yes, it will show in both apps if you add or change a feature in the pilot app and that feature is available in your AIB mobile app.

If the feature is specific to the pilot app, then it will not appear in your old app.

PFM is a new feature in the new AIB mobile app that helps you categorise you’re spending.  

To find transactions, use the search box at the top of your transaction list. You can search by payee, amount, or category.

You can apply filters to narrow your search by selecting a specific payee, merchant, or category - this will show all recent transactions that match your chosen filter.

Transactions are automatically categorised based on details like the name of the shop where you spent money.

If a transaction is in the wrong category, you can tap on it, select the correct category, and your change will be saved.

Yes. You can create budgets that will make it easier to understand where your money goes.

These categories are completely customisable, and changes are easy to apply:

• On the transaction detail page select ‘Spending analytics’ and then select the category and sub-category of your choosing and click ‘Done.’ 
• A confirmation message will appear, and your selection will be updated on the transaction details page. 

Personal Financial Management (PFM) lets you access and analyse your transaction history for up to two years.

Transaction history in the Personal Financial Management (PFM) tool is available in real time, meaning your transactions and account information are updated as soon as the payment is processed.

The speed of updates depends on when the transaction is completed. 

Go to the ‘My Money’ navigation at the bottom of your pilot app screen. This section contains the budgeting tool.

Yes. Once a budget is deleted, the transaction history is not used in your monthly calculations.

The pilot app displays the location where a card transaction takes place. It does not track or record your actual location. 

1. Open the pilot app and log in.
2. On the home screen, tap the account you want to see statements on (for example, your current account).
3. Tap the ‘More’ button. 
4. Choose ‘Statements’ from the menu options.
5. A list of available statements will appear. Tap the statement you want to see.
6. If you want to download it, look for a download or share icon (often shown as an arrow or three dots) and select your preferred option.
7. The statement will be saved as a PDF file, which you can open, save, or share as needed.

Yes, the pilot app will need to be updated to ensure you have the latest features, improvements, and security enhancements. These updates will be managed by the mobile app team and we will send you more information on updates by email

If your device has automatic updates enabled, the pilot app will update itself automatically whenever a new version is released. However, if automatic updates are turned off, you may be asked to update your pilot app before you can login. This is to ensure you have the latest pilot updates.
